Cities as a Place for Public Artwork: a GLOCAL Approach

Today we present Dr. Calvin Seerveld, one of the leading thinkers in Canada—and the world—on religion, philosophy and art. He is a Professor Emeritus in Aesthetics at the Institute for Christian Studies, and author of a long list of books and articles, among them Rainbows for a Fallen World.

Dr. Seerveld argues that good city life needs more than smooth transit and corporate development—it means building communities around art, imagination, and the hope of the possible. He outlines how the different spheres of human existence contribute to the transformation and renewal of great urban centres.
