Review of 'The Outrageous Idea of Academic Faithfulness'

Comment recommends The Outrageous Idea of Academic Faithfulness by Donald Opitz and Comment author Derek Melleby.

The deeply formative time spent in university is rarely viewed as that—formative. As someone who recently graduated, the questions I was asked most often were, "What are you going to be?", or "What in the world are you going to do with that degree?"

But most college students can count on one hand the number of times they have been asked, "How are you being shaped through this time?" and "How are you learning to love God with your mind?"

The Outrageous Idea of Academic Faithfulness asks questions about formation and faithfulness. Filled with rich insights and probing questions, it encourages students, through its accessible chapters and group discussion questions, to connect their faith with their studies, through all the excitement and trials of academic life.
