Alissa Wilkinson is co-editor of Comment. She teaches English and humanities on the full-time faculty at The King's College in New York City, where she is also the proud faculty advisor to the House of Corrie ten Boom. Her work on pop culture, philosophy, and fine art appears in publications including Christianity Today, Books & Culture, the Globe & Mail, WORLD, and Paste. In 2008, she founded The Curator and served as editor while on staff with International Arts Movement until 2010.
Alissa holds an M.A. in humanities and social thought from New York University and a B.S. in information technology from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, and is presently studying for an M.F.A. in creative nonfiction at Seattle Pacific University. Her current research interests include art's role in postmodern public life; the relationship between contemporary fiction and religion; Christianity and millenials; and technology and human flourishing.
Alissa and her husband, Tom—a photographer and accomplished chili maker—live in a tiny apartment high above the Brooklyn treetops where they watch a lot of the X-Files. She reads incessantly, strongly appreciates a fine oatmeal stout, and grades a lot of papers.
