I grew up hearing a lot about God and even learning of Jesus in Sunday School. However, I rejected his teachings and way of life as a child and young adult. To me, his teachings were full of rules that I didn't want to follow. Later, at age 19, I attended a Christian group at my college campus where I heard teachings on certain of these "rules". It was there I learned that his rules were not given to prohibit having a good time, but rather they were given to ensure having the best time—Jesus came to give life abundantly. After some contemplation I accepted Christ in my life and have never been the same since. My artwork is influenced by my understandings of the Bible and sometimes by life experiences. I currently teach English as a Second Language at a community college by night, and am an artist by day.
