Ryan Messmore

Ryan Messmore is the William E. Simon Fellow in Religion and a Free Society at The Heritage Foundation. As the Simon Fellow, Messmore served as lead writer for Seek Social Justice: Transforming Lives in Need, an innovative, six-lesson study guide with accompanying DVD lessons.

Messmore received his first masters degree from Duke Divinity School in Christian ethics. His second masters, in systematic theology, was from Cambridge, where his thesis was "The Church 'Against the World, For the World' in the work of Stanley Hauerwas and Lesslie Newbigin". He recently completed his D.Phil. in theology from Oxford. Also, before joining Heritage in 2006, he served as founding director of Trinity Forum Academy in Royal Oak, MD.

Messmore is a fraternal triplet and has three children and three cats . . . but only one wife. He and his family live in Maryland.
