Samuel Martin received his B.A. in English from Redeemer University College and his M.A. in English and Creative Writing from the University of Toronto, where he worked under the mentorship of award-winning author David Adams Richards on a collection of stories. That collection, titled This Ramshackle Tabernacle, will be published by Breakwater Books (www.breakwaterbooks.com) in May 2010.

Sam currently lives in St. John's with his wife Samantha and their black lab Vader, where he (Sam, not the dog) is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in English at Memorial University of Newfoundland on the topic of "sacramental reading."
