Vincent Bacote

Vincent Bacote is Associate Professor of Theology, and director of the Center for Applied Christian Ethics, at Wheaton College in Wheaton, Illinois. He is the author of The Spirit in Public Theology: Appropriating the Legacy of Abraham Kuyper (2005). He is also co-editor with Dennis Okholm and Laura Miguelez of Scripture in the Evangelical Tradition (InterVarsity Press, 2004). He is also the editor of the Precepts for Living Annual Commentary (UMI).

Vincent writes: "One of Abraham Kuyper's most famous quotes is: 'There is not a square inch in the whole domain of our human existence over which Christ, who is sovereign over all, does not cry: Mine!' This quote gets to the heart of the way I view theology and the Christian faith. It is important to recognize that our faith is not reserved for some kind of Christian ghetto. It ought to impact every facet of our lives and society. I hope to create this kind of passion in students as they study theology, a truly exciting subject."
