Why is Construction so Expensive in Ontario?

Ray Pennings, Cardus Senior Fellow and Director of Research, delivered a well-received research presentation at the Economic Club of Canada this morning titled, ““Why Is Construction So Expensive In Ontario?” Among the 140 people in attendance were union, business, legal and political leaders. Pennings offered a well-supported strategy that could improve Ontario`s labour situation, explaining that, “a competitive labour pool model creates fewer jurisdictional disputes, promotes local efficiency, and encourages innovation on a macro level.”
