Almut Sweet is the Controller at Cardus —she counts the beans and cuts the cheques—everyone's favourite! Almut adds heart to dollars, coming to Cardus with a wide variety of financial and administrative skills. She has served as Supervisor and Principal of Bramalea Christian Academy, worked as a curriculum and book editor and as Director of Finance at Promise Keepers Canada.

We like to think that Almut puts real life horizons on great big dreams, turning ideas into reality – she keeps the office grounded, honest and full of good humour. She uses her gifts all around the greater Hamilton area, as Treasurer for the Canadian Club and serving on the Board and Finance Committee of St. Joseph's Health Care Volunteer Association as well as on the Board of the United Way Ancaster. She loves spending time outdoors, horses, stimulating books and waking up to the smell of coffee.

She is a proud and active member of the Conservative Party of Canada - the Treasurer of the Conservative Association of Parliamentary Spouses and - most importantly - the wife of an elected member of Canada’s federal Parliament, David Sweet. She and her husband live in their riding, in the Meadowlands, Ancaster with their children.
