Gideon Strauss

Dr. Gideon Strauss is president of the Center for Public Justice (cpjustice.org) and editor of Comment. From 1999 to 2009, he was research and education director for the Christian Labour Association of Canada. Gideon is married to Angela, and they have two daughters, Tala and Hannah.

Gideon is a native of South Africa, where he received his Ph.D. in the ethics of public policy in 1995. He was an interpreter for the South African Truth and Reconciliation Commission under Archbishop emeritus Desmond Tutu, and during the 1980s, he served just more than 3 years of a 6-year community service assignment as a conscientious objector against serving in the South African army under apartheid.

Gideon is considered one of the leading contemporary exponents of the neocalvinist vision, and in addition to facilitating his work and personal networks, teaches courses encouraging people to connect their deep loves with their vocation and culture.

He is editor, along with Craig Bartholomew, of "In the Fields of the Lord: A Calvin Seerveld Reader".
