As part of our mission to renewal North American social architecture, Cardus is deeply invested in the institutions of our culture—and in those who tend to them.
In 2014-15 we explored a pilot program of intensive leadership development, a residency and curriculum project for the cultural leaders of tomorrow. We were delighted by the cohort of leaders we graduated in April 2015, and we reaped rich benefit from the experimental project and its participants, animators, and coordinators.
In building the pilot for its second iteration, we have found several indicators of the competitiveness of this leadership-training landscape. Potential Cardus*U leaders face ever-increasing demands on their attention and their time. We heard from many clients lessons that will contribute to our continued design of Cardus*U going forward. However, for 2015-16 there will not be a resident cohort as there was in the first pilot year.
Cardus remains committed to leadership development, both for itself and for the sake of likeminded organizations. We look forward to sharing future Cardus*U plans in this space.
I welcome your questions and comments.
