A wunderkammer of discoveries, compiled by Comment and illuminated for our readers' edification and entertainment. We do not necessarily endorse the external content below.

. . . One of Comment's favourite conferences is coming up April 16-18, 2009. "Philosophy and Revelation: a conference in celebration of the centenary of Herman Bavinck's Stone Lectures" will be staged by the Princeton Seminary Library in New Jersey. Featuring Kuyper Prize winner Dr. Alvin Plantinga, and numerous other speakers, the event is a perennial favourite of Reformed thinkers.

. . . Next, two opportunities for Toronto-area readers. First, IMAGO will be staging a showing of the Saint John's Bible, the first handwritten, illuminated Bible commisioned since the advent of the printing press over 500 years ago. The recently completed, ten-year project has been profiled on BBC Television and across North American media. The Bible is two feet tall, three feet wide, and nearly 1,100 pages in seven volumes. A replica edition of the Gospels and Acts will be on display at St. Michael's College, John M. Kelley Library, 113 St. Joseph Street, April 16 to 30, 2009. Also, Fr. Michael Patella—chair of the Saint John's Bible Committee on Illumination and Text—will be on hand for a free public lecture, Thursday April 16 at 7:30 pm. Visit www.imago-arts.on.ca for much more information.

. . . Finally, in Port Perry, an hour north of Toronto, Comment readers may be interested in Lynne McIlvride Evans' Annual Easter Weekend Exhibition, a solo art show in the home of Lynne McIlvridge Evans, a friend of Comment author Calvin Seerveld.
