Pat O'Brien

Pat O'Brien is a former Canadian Member of Parliament, serving as a Liberal M.P. from October 1993 to June 2005, when he resigned from the Liberal caucus to sit as an Independent until the last Canadian general election in which he declined to stand for re-election.

Mr. O'Brien served as Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister for International Trade (2000-2003), and as Chair of the House of Commons Standing Committee on National Defence and Veterans Affairs in the 36th, 37th, and 38th Parliaments. Mr. O'Brien also served as a city councillor (1982-1993) and as a school board trustee (1980-1982) in London, Ontario. Holding the M.Ed. and B.A. (Hons.) from the University of Western Ontario, Pat was also a high school history teacher and an athletic coach.
