Edward Tingley
Edward Tingley holds a Ph.D. in Philosophy from the University of Ottawa (1995) and a B.A. in Art History from Carleton University (1978).
He has taught at Augustine College since 2005 and has served as Dean of the College since 2016, after a previous term as Dean from 2006 to 2011. He is also instructor at Abandonedschoolhouse.com, which teaches the higher essentials once taught at every college.
Dr. Tingley has spoken on topics in philosophy and ethics (rights of conscience, Aristotelian ethics, Nietzsche, Alasdair MacIntyre, etc.) and in art and culture (the Gothic cathedral, art and the Gospel, modern art, cultural decay), many of which are on the College’s YouTube channel. He has published occasional articles in Touchstone and First Things. He is presently at work on Intolerable Differences, a book on the trouble with our culture wars.
