Judith Valente is an on air correspondent for the national PBS-TV news program Religion & Ethics NewsWeekly. She worked previously for The Wall Street Journal and The Washingon Post. She is the author of the poetry collections Discovering Moons and Inventing an Alphabet, selected by Mary Oliver for the national Aldrich Poetry Prize, and co-editor with her husband Charles Reynard of the award-winning anthology Twenty Poems to Nourish Your Soul. She resides in Chicago and Woodford County, IL, where she and her husband own an alfalfa farm. In her spare time, she is training to become an Illinois Master Naturalist, a program of volunteers dedicated to conserving Illinois' prairie and wildlife.
