John Witte, Jr. is Jonas Robitscher Jonas Robitscher Professor of Law, Director of Law and Religion Program, and Director of the Center for the Interdisciplinary Study of Religion at Emory University. He has published 120 articles and 12 books, including the following titles from which the present address is, in part, drawn: Religious Human Rights in Global Perspective, 2 vols. (Martinus Nijhoff, 1996); Proselytism and Orthodoxy in Russia: The New War for Souls (Orbis Books, 1999); Sharing the Book: The Rights and Wrongs of Proselytism (1999); Religion and the American Constitutional Experiment (Harper/Westview Press, 2000); and Law and Protestantism: The Legal Teachings of the Lutheran Reformation (Cambridge University Press, 2002).
