Dr. Kathryn L. Wiens has served in both suburban and urban public and independent schools as a classroom teacher and school system administrator. Currently, she works as the Associate Director of the Council on Educational Standards and Accountability and as an adjunct professor at Wheaton College in both the science and education departments.
Kathryn holds a doctorate in education policy, planning, and administration from Boston University, a master's degree in curriculum and instruction from the University of St. Thomas, and a Bachelor's degree in biology and Science education from the University of St. Thomas. She is the author of numerous articles and of the book, Boys Who Achieve: An Examination of Single-Sex Classes in a Coeducational College Preparatory School.
Kathryn is married to Dr. Timothy Wiens and is the proud mother of Eliot, her newly born son, and dog mother of Griswold, the family's Great Dane.
