Mack McCarter

 

Mack McCarter is founder and coordinator of Community Renewal International. A native of Shreveport,
LA, Mack holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in religion from Texas Christian University and a Master of
Divinity Degree from Brite Divinity School. He served as a pastor for 18 years in Texas before returning
to Shreveport in 1991 to begin implementing his vision for community renewal. CRI was formally
organized in 1994 and under Mack’s leadership has grown into an organization which has received
national and international recognition for its life-changing impact. On October 30, 2014, Community
Renewal International celebrated their 20 year anniversary. Former President Jimmy Carter visited
Shreveport that same day in honor of the momentous event.

In 1967, Mack married his wife Judy, whom he met while attending TCU. Mack and Judy have two
children, David and Nancy, and have four grandchildren. David and his wife, Kelli, live in Shreveport,
LA with their three children, Kate, Collin, and Emma Clair; daughter Nancy also lives in Shreveport with
her daughter Jacqueline.

Mack currently divides his time between Shreveport, LA and Washington, DC, where he is working
diligently with former Navy Secretary John Dalton creating Community Renewal Capital Area.
