Can we imagine a better education system? One that’s more responsive to the diverse needs of students, focuses on those who are losing in our current structure, and provides families with a plurality of options? We believe education can be better. Join us for an evening reception and dialogue about one of the most pressing matters of our time.

Education policy in Canada is conservative in all the wrong ways. Outside the Western provinces and Quebec, K-12 education is built to be brittle, centrally controlled, prone to political manipulation, and unable to meet the diverse needs of Canadian children. Compared to many countries, including Finland and the Netherlands, education policy in these provinces remains stuck in a structural funk. It’s time for that to change.

Can we imagine a better education system? One that’s more responsive to the diverse needs of students, focuses on those who are losing in our current structure, and provides families with a plurality of options? We believe education can be better.

Join us to hear from Dr. Ashley Berner, Cardus Senior Fellow and Deputy Director of the Johns Hopkins Institute for Education Policy; Jamil Jivani, author of Why Young Men and Visiting Scholar at the University of Cincinnati; and Ray Pennings, Executive Vice President of Cardus. Together, we will spend an evening imagining a better, more accessible, and pluralistic future for education across Canada.
