Local congregations are the places where many people live out the most important moments of their lives. They are places where our faith is nurtured and grown, where our most pressing human questions are answered, and some of our deepest relationships formed. The reach and responsibility of the local church, however, goes beyond personal needs and includes institutional roles and responsibilities in the wider community.

What does it mean to think about our local church as an institutional citizen? What can we learn from current research and practice? What are the possibilities, dangers and challenges of this kind of institutional citizenship?

Join Milton Friesen, Director of the Social Cities Program at Cardus, in Kitchener as he delivers a free public lecture on how we can seek the good of the secular city.
