Cardus is delighted to host a conversation between Christine Emba (Washington Post opinion columnist and editor, Comment Fellow, and author of Rethinking Sex: A Provocation) and Jen Gerson (journalist, political commentator, and co-founder of the online newsletter The Line).

Emba’s new book contends with the dominant cultural assumption that consent is sufficient for sex. She offers the provocative counterpoint that consent is necessary as a floor for sexual relationships, but terrible as a ceiling.
