Follow the Stampede to Calgary!

Pack your cowboy hat & boots because TPI is headed for the wild west! In the foothills of the breathtaking Canadian Rockies lies the beautiful “Heart of the New West” city of Calgary, the cleanest and healthiest city in Canada. Home of the world-famous Calgary Stampede and the 1988 Winter Olympics, Calgary boasts 333 days of sunshine and an average temperature of 75 degrees Fahrenheit (24 degrees Celsius) in July. The city’s downtown area is quaint and within walking distance from the host hotel. An abundant array of boutiques, cafes, galleries and attractions await your visit. The city is also known for its lush green spaces and the best trout fishing in the world—the Bow River flows right through downtown! The host hotel, the Fairmont Palliser, was built in 1914 by the Canadian Pacific Railway for European travelers visiting Banff and its hot springs. The hotel is only 25 minutes from the Calgary International Airport. Plan to extend your stay in Calgary before and after the TPI Midwinter Conference to visit Banff and Jasper National Parks, Lake Louise, a do-it-yourself dinosaur bone dig site and the Strathmore Rodeo. Outdoor activities include whitewater rafting, horseback riding, mountain biking, ATV riding, caving and kayaking, just to name a few.  So giddy up and plan to join TPI and your Canadian colleagues in the wild, wild west!
