Hate crimes related to religion on the rise
There’s a worrying rise in reported hate crimes in Canada, reports the Catholic Register. And as Rev. Dr. Andrew Bennett tells the newspaper, Quebec’s new secularism bill will likely make things worse.
“Social media does become a very useful tool for people who like to dehumanize others and to demonize people who are different and who believe different things,” said Deacon Andrew Bennett, program director for religious freedom and legal issues at Cardus.
