Brad Vanden Boogaard

After graduating from Mohawk College for Network Engineering and Security Analysis, Brad Vanden Boogaard worked in the IT field for three years. And so, he has a strong history in troubleshooting and working in professional environments of many different sizes. He travelled for work to meet coworkers and managers and to deliver customer presentations in Bangalore, India and Cincinnati, Ohio.

Outside of work Brad enjoys volunteering and working with people. In high school he attended two volunteer trips through Youth Unlimited, and assisted with a regular Tuesday night social club for adults with developmental disabilities. After graduating high school, he assisted in coordinating an annual volunteer trip with Youth Unlimited in Niagara for five years. Currently he's a small group leader for his church youth group. He has attended many youth retreats and conventions as a leader. Through the All Ontario Youth Convention Brad travelled to Nicaragua in March of 2014. He went with a group of eight youth and other leaders to help convert an old school into a medical clinic. While there we also spent time building relationships with people and families in Las Mercedes.

He thoroughly enjoys biking in the summertime—from casual afternoon rides to mountain trails. He enjoys connecting with people who may seem a bit on the outside of a circle.

Brad has a strong sense that bullying within North America is extremely high. He aims to see the bullying trend turned around, and to support youth and young adults in seasons of vulnerability.

He has lived in St. Catharines and in Hamilton, Ontario since moving for school in 2007.
