David Hunt is the British Columbia (BC) Director at Cardus.
David holds a Master of Public Policy from Simon Fraser University and a Bachelor of Business Administration (with distinction) from Kwantlen Polytechnic University, where he was the Dean's Medal recipient. He has contributed to research in various policy areas covering education, labour markets, investment, entrepreneurship, and fiscal policy. His commentaries have appeared in a number of major Canadian newspapers including the Vancouver Sun, National Post, Toronto Sun, and Calgary Herald, as well as broadcast media.
Prior to joining Cardus, David launched multiple successful businesses—most notably, Vancouver's famous foodtruck Arturo's Mexico to Go—and provided consulting to a diverse range of companies and charities in a variety of sectors. Twice he ran for federal office, falling narrowly short of the candidacy in both nomination races.
Born and raised on the BC Coast, David lives in beautiful White Rock, BC with his wife Krista and their children. When they’re not at the beach, you can find them hiking the North Shore mountains or skiing the Dave Murray Downhill.
