Changes Coming to the Cardus Education Program

Cardus remains committed to educational pluralism, excellence in education, and measuring graduate outcomes

HAMILTON, ON – Having served for more than four years as education program director at Cardus, David Hunt has decided to take a new step in his career with another organization. Under David’s capable leadership, Cardus Education conducted ground-breaking research in several key areas. These include the continuation of the Cardus Education Survey and its expansion to Australia, examinations of Canadian parents’ motivations for choosing independent schooling for their children, and critical mapping of the independent school landscapes in Ontario and Alberta.

“Cardus was blessed to have had David’s leadership in our education research since 2019,” said Lisa Richmond, Vice President of Research at Cardus. “The whole team here wishes David and his family all the best as he makes this change. While we engage in our search for the next director for this important program, Cardus’s work in education will continue pursuing original research and policy studies on educational pluralism, excellence in education, and graduate outcomes.”

Cardus Education remains a key priority area for Cardus, as it has been for more than a decade. With students still suffering from the effects of pandemic fallout on their learning and rising enrollment in independent schooling, the need for rigorous, evidence-based research on education has never been higher. Cardus will continue to invest in education research and will announce new leadership for this program in due time.
