In her letter to the editor, Andrea Mrozek, a senior fellow with Cardus Family, argues Canada needs to change course on child care.

“When the state plays a role in the premature deaths of its own citizens, transparency isn’t optional – it’s essential," says Rebecca Vachon.

Two things are clear: that parents are unsatisfied with the public school system and are willing to pay out of pocket if it means more choice around how their child is educated.

"Why is the federal government butting into intra-familial relationships and why are parents passively accepting mediocre, one-size-fits-all programs?"

"Every sector [of independent schools] performed as well or better than their public school counterparts," says Joanna DeJong VanHof.

"The fact that [euthanasia] is part of the healthcare system...creates this idea of normalization," says Rebecca Vachon, program director for Health at Cardus.
