Planning in Good Faith: A Cambridge Evening Symposium

Faith communities have made and continue to make significant contributions to the well-being of Cambridge citizens. The City of Cambridge Planning and Administration teams are vital contributors to the common good of the many communities that call the City of Cambridge home.

Planning in Good Faith is an event designed to enhance communication, understanding and collaboration between faith communities and the City of Cambridge Planning and Administration teams. It will be comprised of a presentations, opportunities for questions and discussion, and exploration of issues that are of immediate concern in Cambridge.

Sessions include:

Faith 101
Understanding the distinctive nature of faith communities
15 Minutes +15 for discussion and questions
Rev. Steve Adams – Senior Pastor, Forward Baptist Church
Rev. Greg Jenkins – Rector, Trinity Anglican Church

Planning 101
Understanding the distinctive role and function of planning in the City of Cambridge
15 Minutes +15 for discussion and questions
Paul Smithson – Senior Planner, City of Cambridge

The meeting has the following goals:

  1. The City learns more about the role of faith communities;
  2. Faith community members and leaders learn how city planning affects them;
  3. Stronger relationships – faith communities with each other and with the City;
  4. Explore the level of interest in developing stronger collaboration
