Cardus recently released research examining trends of volunteering, philanthropy and civic participation in Canada. The research suggests that a declining civic core threatens much of the social fabric Canadians take for granted. In response, Cardus has initiated a campaign www.29to42.ca which among things, suggests the federal government increase the charitable tax credit in its next budget from 29 to 42%. Cardus Director of Research Ray Pennings and author of the study will present the key findings and be available for a discussion.
