Says Wellum, “In our materialistic culture we view everything as a commodity to be priced and traded, including life itself. Tragically we have lost sight of the real wealth in a culture that can not be captured and manipulated by accounting methodologies since it is metaphysical in nature. It is the metaphysical component of wealth we have grossly undervalued and even sabotaged. But it remains true that our ability to create sustained wealth is directly tied to our ideas, creativity, innovations, faith in the future and most importantly our values. An economy not anchored in a strong and flourishing value system can not remain strong and prosperous.”
