“Short-termism” in how we manage our money, our capital markets, and social policy holds long-term consequences for the viability of the Canadian economy and for the next generation of Canadians. Jonathan Wellum offered his insightful analysis of “short-termism” and the serious problems this approach leads to in each sphere of life. Wellum proposed an alternative to current trends that will lead to growth and human flourishing over the long term.

Stained Glass Urbanism Launch: World Urban Forum

The World Urban Forum, hosted by the Canadian government, is the world’s most prominent forum for conversations on urban development, sustainability and renewal. In June 2006 the World Urban Forum was convened in Vancouver. At the event Cardus launched Stained Glass Urbanism, a long-term research project which will research faith communities and the significant contribution they make to renewal and sustainability of urban spaces.
